Peter and Mary Alice Amidon have been a mainstay of harmony singing leading over the last twenty years at major traditional music and dance festivals in the Northeast and at week-long adult singing workshops in Scotland and Vermont. Peter co-directs both the Guilford Community Church (UCC) Choir, and the Hallowell Singers, southeastern Vermont's hospice choir. The Amidons' choral arrangements and compositions, twenty-five of which are published in their "Beatitudes": book and companion CD, are being sung by church, community, high school, college and hospice choirs across the U.S. and the UK. The Amidons’ workshops are great for choral directors, choir members and folk who simply like to sing. Their energy and warmth encourages people to feel relaxed while empowering groups to create rich and soulful harmonies.
